Walang Natira

I really like this song :)
Walang Natira
This song shows the current situation in our country now.  Most Filipino's hope of having a better economic situation for the family and it can be attained by going abroad and living his family alone.

Napakaraming guro dito sa amin ngunit
Bakit tila walang natira
Napakaraming nurse dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila

[Gloc-9]
[Sheng Belmonte]
Napakaraming inhinyero dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Napakaraming karpintero dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila

[Gloc-9]
O barko kahit saan man papunta.
[Sheng Belmonte
Napakaraming kasambahay dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Napakaraming labandera dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila

[Gloc-9]
[Sheng Belmonte
Napakaraming guro dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Napakaraming nurse dito sa amin
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Nagaabroad sila
(Gusto kong yumaman4x)
Napakaraming tama dito sa atin...
Ngunit bakit tila walang natira...

1 month after the move

It's been a month already that I have transferred to my new house.  It feels great to own a house at last.  After renting for years, I now have a place to call as my own.

What are the positive things I've got after moving in, my son was able to play, run almost daily outdoor.  It's a nice feeling seeing him playing and running with his new neighbors.  It is unlike before where we stay in a very small house and the space is very little and outside is already the main road.  So most of his time he will just watch TV, play his toys or use the computer.  For my side, I have the space to run or walk for my exercise.  And it is different living in a subdivision, maybe it is safer with guards and you are living with mostly educated people.

Though I'm glad with our transfer, I am also disappointed with my daily travel going to my office.  Since our subdivision is still new and my location is far from the main gate, I will have to walk around 10 minutes to get to the main road, lucky if there are sikads around.  It is inconvenient if there is rain or if it is very hot.  How I wish I can have a car or multicab of my own.  After the walk I will have to ride a tricycle going to TAMIYA, that is the terminal for the jeepneys going to Mandaue City.  I feel good if I can sit properly on the tricycle,  since I hated sitting next to the driver, especially if there are 2 backriders and sitting on the entrance of the tricycle with your knees outside, if the sun is up, feel the warmth of the sun, if there is rain, arm yourself with your umbrella coz you'll surely get wet. And there is another cross riding the tricycle, enjoy the bumpy ride or the dirty water from the not so good roads in Lapu lapu.  Well, well... and good luck with the traffic along the Grand Mall in Basak.  These seems to be normal along that road, morning and evening.  Hay, how I wish the government will take an action on these roads.  This is one of the worst roads I have seen in Cebu, thingking that this is in front of a mall and near the Mactan Doctor's hospital.  Once I'll arrive in TAMIYA terminal, I have to fall in line to ride a multicab to Mandaue.  Sometimes it takes too long to wait, especially if there are few multicabs or the line is very long.   And the last burden is the traffic near the bridge and along the bridge...  My normal travel is not so good, tiring, especially if it is very hot.  To bear with the traffics and heat of the sun, I will just take a nap while on travel.  All I can say to myself is "Hahay, og nganong ni enter."  But I want change for my life, maybe live better in a new house, in a better house.  That is why I have to bear the 1 and half hour of travel one way going to my work.  If only our government can help, if only they can better our roads, maybe it can help lessen the burden of a simple Juan de la Cruz who can't afford to buy an expensive house near his work place.

My new house in Deca 5 Mactan

I am excited, happy and scared because my housing loan has already been approved.  Excited and happy to finally own a house. Scared because I will pay for 7 thousand monthly for 30 years.  But anyways, that's life, if I won't buy a house and keep on renting for life that's more complicated and a waste of money.

Deca Homes Mactan 5 is located in Basak, Lapu lapu City.  It is near the Gaisano Grand Mall and  Mactan Doctor Hospital.  It is far from my work place, I have to ride four times just to get to my office.  And I have to travel for an average of 1 hour and 15 minutes one way.  I just hope that the roads in Mactan, especially in Basak area will have some road widening and improvement.  And I wish there are jeepneys to travel along the main road of Gaisano Grand Mall.  It is very tiring to ride on Lapu lapu's tricycle.

September 9 is a Holiday in Cebu

There would be no work and classes in the entire Cebu Province and Cebu City on Friday, September 9, in commemoration of the late Don Sergio Osmeña Sr.’s 133th birth anniversary.

Sergio Osmeña is the 4th president of the Philippines.  He was the first President who came from Cebu and the Visayas.  He became the president when Manuel L. Quezon died in 1944, since he was the vice president at that time.

Sergio Osmeña is in our new 50 peso bill.

Lonoy, Jagna, Bohol

I was born in Lonoy, Jagna, Bohol. I live here for more than 10 years and sometimes I still visit this place. I miss the serenity and simplicity living in a barrio like Lonoy.

Lonoy is located in the mountain part in Jagna, Bohol. It is just around 15-30 minutes of travel from the town's proper. It is part of the history because of The Battle of Lonoy. The Battle of Lonoy in 1901 was a bloody American surprise attack launched on Filipino insurgents that killed over 400 in the Philippine-American War.

Lonoy is already a parish and you can hear mass everyday. It has one elementary school and 1 high school.

What you should not miss when you visit this place is the "Tubod". Tubod is a cold spring where you can take a bath, drink fresh water, even wash your clothes. When I was young we sometimes look for some "soso" (shell) for our food.

Another nice spot to visit here is the Kinahugan Falls. Kinahugan Falls is located in the border line between Lonoy and Cabungaan. Expect a nice water falls and some beautiful trees around.

Ohh, I really miss this place especially now that I am living the city...
