Bolod Beach in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines

I spend my holy week in Bohol, Philippines, my home province to meet my sisters and have some quality time together.  The three days was spent doing Catholic rituals like going to 7 churches or Visita Iglesia, hearing the 7 last words and doing procession.  And on Easter Sunday we decided to have some fun in the beach. We decided to leave early, around 6 am in the morning and arrived at the beach before 7 o'clock.  Our planned beach resort should be Dumaluan but we are unlucky because the cottages where all fully booked.  The guard referred us to Bolod Beach Resort just beside Dumaluan but we have to go to another road.

Well, we arrived in Bolod Beach Resort and got our cottage at 300 pesos. The kids immediately ran to the beach after we put our food at the table.  The water was a little colder at 7 am but still so nice.  The heat of the sun is very okay at this time.  Around 10 am we decided to go home to attend to my nephews birthday party.

Here are some of my pictures in the resort.

How I Start My Investment in the Philippine Stock Market

I am one of the ordinary citizens of this country.  I have a  job and my income is enough for me and my son.  During good days I can save a little money.  Sometimes I have sidelines to have some extra cash in my pocket.  I have been working for almost a decade now and honestly I don't have a good savings, emergency fund and for my child's future.  So last year I made a promise that I'm going to save.  Every pay day I spare 500 pesos out from my salary.  And luckily I made it until November.  So by November I have 11 thousand pesos in my savings.  11 thousand is already a huge amount for a savings and I told myself that my one year of effort should not be wasted, I must put it a good place.  Luckily I have an officemate who introduced me to COL or Citisec Online.  She showed me how she growed her money.  Making it grow for almost double for almost two years.  She even showed me her portfolio.  Convinced I joined.  I applied last December 2012 and got approved a few days after I mailed my requirements.  After two months from buying stocks from the market the percentage increase is already more than 10% from the two stocks that I bought.

So for those who wanted to know how I applied in online investing here are the steps:
1) What is COL?
COL is the no. 1 online stockbroker in the Philippine Stock Exchange.  Their site have an update for the current prices of the stocks in our country.  Here you can buy and sell the  stocks of your choice.  For a detailed information about this site here is the link

Click this to go to COL website

Main page of COL

I choose this site because they are online though I'm from the Visayas region I get the latest update every few seconds of the stock market prices.

2) After choosing a stock broker.  In my case COL.  I follow the instruction from their site.
a) I must have atleast 5 thounsand pesos.
b) I fill out the forms they provided.
c) I gather all their requirements, including valid ID's and billing statement.
d) After the requirements are completed I send it via LBC to

COL Financial Business Center
2403B East Tower, Philippine Stock Exchange Center, Exchange Rd. Ortigas Center, Pasig City 1605 Philippines

3) After 2 days I received a call from COL staff saying my application is already okay and they will send my account number via email.  And the account number will be used in funding my account.  You can deposit in BDO, Metrobank or BPI.

4) When my fund shows in my COL account I started buying the stocks I like.  As a first timer I read a lot of articles from the internet and from my officemate.  So my first  stocks were suggested from my officemate.

I pray and hope that my investments will helped me in my long term goal.

Pakpakan Road Under Construction

Last Saturday I visited the Pakpakan road in Basak, Lapu lapu City and indeed the road construction is ongoing.

This  diversion road will be a great help to those travelers along Mactan Doctors, Gaisano Grand mall and going to Masulog, Sudtonggan.  As one of the residents in this place, everyday is a struggle :)  You have to wait patiently with the traffic and it is almost daily during mornings and evenings and also during Gaisano's Day of Sale.

Here are some pictures of their works.  Hopefully the road will be okay this March :)

Valentine's Day

Yesterday was the day of the hearts.  Everywhere in sight are flowers, roses, chocolates, teddy bears, hearts and hearts.  People were in streets, malls, restaurants busy walking, meeting with friends, and of course couples in love.    Some wore red clothes, girls holding balloons and flowers.

It makes me happy to see people who are in love.   It reminds me of myself before when things were good between me and my ex.  I was one of the happy girls who will carry bouquet of flowers during Valentines Day.  With the envy of some women, I thought I was so lucky that I have him.  Things back then was not that perfect but I am happy, very much fulfilled and contented with my life.  But like the cycle of the day, there is the mornings, the afternoons, and the midnights.  And I'm in the midnight part of my life now.  I know I have move on with my life.  I have been used living alone together with my son.  Been happy, contented.  But there are also some times when you wanted to have somebody to share with, to talk with about your life.  But it's so hard to go into another relationship, to start anew with another person.  I'm scared to even date, maybe because of my religion, my family and my emotions.  I don't want to go back into the dark ages of my life, the sleepless nights and the crying days.  For about five years God is good, maybe I have to wait for the right time, the sign and of course the man who will not break his promise with me.

It's another food trip Fridays for us, me and my friend Jane.  Together with some of our friends we choose to spend the evening dining in Simple J's restaurant.  Actually I don't usually choose the place it's my friend Jane who loves to search the net for a good place to eat.  She said this restaurant has many positive feedbacks from other bloggers.  So after office we meet in Ayala and from BDO in front of Pag ibig building we hike to the place.  It is just around 2 to 3 minutes of walk going to Simply J's.

The place is near Parklane Hotel and I've actually passed this place a lot of times and I'm amazed with the decorations.  Before I thought this is just an ordinary house.  The place is comfy with us five.

These are the foods we ordered, and we shared it so each of us can have a bite from different dishes.

Chef's Signature Baby Back Ribs (P 200.00)
Stuffed Pork (P 220.00)
Lasagna (P 180.00)
Taco Salad (P 160.00)
chocolate swirl shake
strawberry ice cream shake
peach-mango smoothie
All of the food tastes good.  So it's no wonder why there are so many people inside the restaurant.  The food and the place is worth remembering and sarap balik balikan.  I hope by next time I can order some other dishes.  And the price is okay, each of us only paid 287, not that expensive but it satisfied our hungry stomach.

Dinner in Payag Restaurant in Bohol

Last december my sister treated us to Payag Restaurant for her birthday.  There were 24 of us my parents, sisters and their families.

Payag Restaurant

This restaurant has two floors and we choose the second floor.  We dine in inside the airconditioned room with free WIFI. So while waiting for our food we busied ourselves with the internet.

Most of us orderered their specialty the JO's chicken Inato which cost only 95 pesos with unlimited rice.  The chicken for that specialty was big and it is barbecued.  The chicken taste delicious and is cooked very well inside.  Every piece of chicken tastes good.  And for the drinks I ordered their mango shake and as expected it also tasted good.  They have also other menus like pork BBQ and some other dishes.
